On 30 March 2023, Parliament passed the Workplace Gender Equality Amendment (Closing the Gender Pay Gap) Bill 2023.
From late 2023, there are new legislative requirements for both private and public sector employers when reporting to the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) on its gender equality indicators. One of the major changes to come out of these reforms is that in early 2024 – WGEA will publish employer gender pay gaps. You can find out more
here.
Since reporting to WGEA began in 2013-14, Australian employers have made progress against most of the six gender equality indicators — but change isn't happening fast enough.
Join our panel discussion with Hon Mary Wooldridge, CEO WGEA and Greg Keith, CEO Grant Thornton Australia, who will guide you through the upcoming changes to legislation and explore ways your organisation can contribute to advancing gender equality.
We hope to see you there.
