Payroll Assurance – managing your payroll obligations and solutions

Date: Friday, 13 March 2020
Time: 7:45am for a 8am start – 9am
Venue: Grant Thornton, Level 17, 383 Kent Street, Sydney

Everyone has seen the headlines and media scrutiny recently around businesses not paying their people correctly – when the organisations of focus are some of the biggest in the country, it’s safe to assume many organisations are grappling with similar issues. In our experience, the causes of underpayment and incorrect payments of overtime wages and superannuation are not because of intentional behaviour, rather it is typically a case of complex awards and EBAs, the lack of routine payroll data validation and failed processes unable to spot red flags.

In order to pay your people correctly, maintain your reputation and minimise Government penalties, businesses must proactively assess and test their application of their industrial relations obligations. If your organisation is thinking it might have a problem there are number of matters to consider:
  • Do you start looking for the problem?
  • How do you go about looking for the problem?
  • If you start looking, and find a problem, what then?
We can help you answer those questions and more importantly, help guide you through the myriad of issues that arise when dealing with a potential underpayment issue.

Issues of this nature require a holistic approach with input from different experts, be they lawyers, accountants or communications specialists. It is not just about determining the liability and crunching the numbers.
We hope you can join us.

Please RSVP by Monday, 9th March 2020.
