The calculation of loss and damages is a complex task, requiring skilled accounting experts to understand the key drivers of the loss to establish a robust calculation of the loss.
In this presentation, Thomas Caldow, Forensic Consulting Partner at Grant Thornton will explore the calculation of loss and damages available in different scenarios with the practical application from recent engagements in which the forensics team at Grant Thornton Australia have been appointed as the Expert.
Tom will also explore the role of a ‘dirty expert’ in forming part of prudent case management as the use of Experts early in the proceedings can assist in quantifying the ‘loss’ and provide guidance to lawyers when instructing the ‘court expert’.
